Terms and conditions

Find out about the terms and conditions on the Ecolet.ro logistics platform. The full text of the regulations can be downloaded by clicking on the link below the text.

Terms and conditions for accepting postal items

Orders for the delivery of postal items will be placed by the SENDER via the Ecolet application – www.ecolet.ro or by email [email protected], providing all the necessary information in a complete and accurate manner. The sender assumes responsibility for the information entered into their account or by the customer in the WWW.ECOLET.RO application with a unique username and password, which represents a firm order placed with Ecolet.

The SHIPPER shall ensure that postal items are properly packaged, labeled, and sealed before they are picked up by the PARTNERS contracted on the Ecolet platform, in order to prevent damage, destruction, misdelivery, and to ensure their inviolability.

Packaging and labeling terms and conditions

To be accepted, postal items must meet the following packaging and labeling requirements:

  • packaging shall be appropriate to the nature of the goods, so as to prevent damage to the contents during both manual and mechanical handling;
  • the packaging must not allow the contents to be damaged by successive handling or pressure, and may be made, as appropriate, from cardboard, plywood, wood, plastic, metal, or non-standard packaging;
  • ensuring the tightness of containers used for postal items, so that their contents cannot leak or spill during transport, sorting, handling of postal items and/or cause damage to the facilities used in the sorting, handling, transport, and delivery of postal items or other postal items or other goods; – postal items must be sealed by the sender. Unsealed postal items are not accepted;
  • transport requires packaging such that the contents of the consignments are sufficiently protected against handling by the associated equipment, varying climatic conditions, where applicable, and mechanical handling (diagonal drop height of 80 cm);
  • postal items containing fragile goods must be properly packaged and labeled by the sender, using bubble wrap, wood shavings, shock-resistant polystyrene, or other material that cushions mechanical shock, and must be marked “Fragile”.

The following types of postal items cannot be handled by Ecolet’s postal services and are therefore excluded from collection, sorting, transport, and delivery:

  • postal items consisting of goods whose transport is prohibited by law, even if only for part of the journey;
  • postal items whose packaging bears inscriptions that are contrary to public order or morality, as well as postal items consisting of goods that are contrary to public order or morality, if they are submitted unpackaged or in transparent packaging;
  • mail items bearing old labels or inscriptions that have not been removed;
  • postal items containing goods of special value, such as precious metals, genuine jewelry, precious stones, genuine pearls, antiques, works of art, paintings, furs, carpets; counterfeit goods, instruments of negotiation, money, valuable documents, original documents, securities, credits, checks, or similar certificates of value;
  • firearms as defined by the law on firearms in Romania, a transit country, or the country of dispatch/destination;
  • mail items which, due to their packaging, may cause damage to goods or endanger people, the environment, etc.;
  • perishable goods, foodstuffs, live or dead animals, materials for medical or biological examination, medical waste, human or animal remains, body parts or organs.

Ecolet agrees that Partners may refuse delivery if, after accepting the postal item, a reason for exclusion is discovered or if there are valid reasons for excluding the postal item from collection, with the burden of proof in such circumstances falling on Ecolet.

Mail items with the following maximum dimensions and weights will be accepted:

  • 210 mm X 297 mm (A4 format) for envelopes, maximum weight 3 kg;
  • Maximum parcel weight: 30 kg;
  • Maximum length: 150 cm
  • The minimum unit of taxation is 1 kg (weight is rounded up when it exceeds 0.01 grams).
